This weekly blog post will come from our very own Louisa (Lou) about one thing she is obsessed with, from exclusive cocktail recipes, charcuterie Inspo and cute cocktail decor.
This is going to be a space where we will be able to share tips and tricks as well as looking at fun and fresh trends within the cocktail world.
Hi,
I'm Lou! the digital and design staff here at Samson Brook South, I much like most girls in their 20s spend to much time on Pinterest looking at the fun and funky homewares. I love looking at the trends within the decor world, particularly within charcuterie and cocktails. From Funky glasses to fragrant pairings I will be scouring Pinterest to bring you some commentary on trending ideas and testing many of them out for you!
My personal style is all about colour combos, fun prints and funky shapes. To see more about what my style is like check out Samson Brook South out on Pinterest where I will be pinning all of the items covered in Lou Loves as well as photos of our cocktails, our farm and much much more.
Cocktail glasses
This week I thought I would start out simple, with fun cocktail glasses!
A great way to make your Friday night drinks feel fancy and high end. I am currently super into fun colours, funky shapes and interesting prints. I think have dopamine homewares is such a simple way of making mundane things that little bit more exciting.
Sunny Life
I am currently loving Sunny Life's poolside cocktail glasses! They are such a fun way of elevating your poolside cocktail game, their funky colours and cute sun designs beats the boring plastic cups that were by our pool last summer. I personally love having a drink poolside on a summers day, or celebrating special occasions like Christmas or even Triple J Hottest 100. I think Sunny Life is delivering on the fun vibes and the Australian Summer Aesthetic, the Australian owned and operated business is a big time crush of mine at the moment.
Country Road
If you are looking to add a twist on classic cocktail glasses, I have a bit of an understated hero for you. Country Road!
The brand is most known for their clothes, but their new range of cocktail glasses are to die for! Incorporating fun mid-century flares, the brown, pink and green glass used to spice up their tumblers and coupes has such a fun and retro twist. I think these stunning simple colourful glasses are sure to impress, from making a G&T to a complex concoction these glasses will make you feel like you're living in a 60s daydream. Although a tad pricer than those at Sunny Life the sets of cocktail glasses are still relatively cheap compared to other brands.
Rumi Living
Although if you're looking for FUNKY I have a special recommendation for you. Rumi Living, The Brisbane based lifestyle company looks to bring luxury and quirky designs to homes across the world. Their intricate glasswork and fin colours are sure to keep your cocktail glasses the talk of the town! Their super funky designs have become a staple on my own Pinterest boards, from the curly stems, to the decorative glass olives they are sure to make your drinking experience a unique one.
Kmart
This is really for my girlies on a budget, Kmart have launched a series of fun and funky cocktail glasses, and although Kmart may not be a small business, it is a great alternative for people who are students (like myself), or anyone who is looking for a cheaper way to enjoy a funky way drinking cocktails. I have used these glasses in a couple of shoots and they are just super simple and easy.
Although I've been seeing a trend on TikTok and the moment, which I have to say I've been wanting to try. Painting your own wine/cocktail glasses with your friends. This is a super fun way of spicing up your next paint and sip or girls night in. This can be a super cheap, fun and glamours way of making something super fun and personal.
I know I have only touched on a couple brands that I am loving recently, but I have so many more linked on our Pinterest account, @SamsonBrookSouth,so please feel free to check out all the designs and brands we are loving!
